Yes. EasyMockInterview uses the OS-level setContentProtection(true) API. The window is rendered directly to your display hardware and excluded from screen capture at the OS layer — Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS, Loom, and any recording tool cannot see it.

No. The app bundles a Gemini API key — you don't need to create or provide anything. Just download, install, and it works out of the box.
The app tries to run Whisper locally (free, no API calls). If that's not available, it falls back to Gemini's audio understanding API using the bundled key. Either way, you never pay per transcription minute.
All data is stored locally on your device. Audio is processed in memory and never stored. When Gemini is used, your resume + question are sent to Google's API but not stored or used for model training under the standard API terms.

macOS will show "Apple could not verify this app is free of malware" — this is the standard warning for apps that aren't notarized by Apple, not a sign anything is wrong.
